Furness Railway Company type 4 design which opened at 5.30pm on 29th March 1896 replacing the 1880-built Carnforth Station Yard signal box, which was located on the Silverdale side of the signal box. It was fitted with an Evans, o'Donnell manufactured Railway Signal Company Tappet lever frame which was extended to 66 levers (numbered A, 1-65) at some time. Closure came on 7th November 1998
